Dr. Griffin
Dr. Bill Griffin has been maintaining and restoring the smiles of patients for over 25 years, since he opened his practice in July 1983. Dentistry, he says, allows him to use his God-given creativity to benefit others. It's even in his blood: Dr. Griffin's father, brother, brother-in-law, and sister-in-law are all dentists! After graduating from the University of Notre Dame, he completed his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the Medical College of Virginia (MCV). He enjoys skiing, traveling, working out and going on dental mission trips. He and his wife Linda have two children, Katie and Will, and they are members of Calvary Reformed Presbyterian Church in Hampton.
Dr. Greenwell
Dr. Kimberly Greenwell joined the City Center Dental Care team in 2006. She received her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Louisville School of Dentistry in 2002. Following graduation, she completed a residency program at Indiana University. Dr. Greenwell practiced in Louisville, Kentucky prior to moving to Newport News. She is best known among her patients for her gentle touch. In addition to weekday hours, she also has Saturday appointments available. Dr. Greenwell enjoys spending time with her wonderful husband, Chuck, and daughters, Hadley and Aubrey. They are members of Bethel Baptist Church in Yorktown.
Dr. Tao-Yi
Dr. William T. Griffin and Dr. Kimberly J. Greenwell, along with the City Center Dental Care team, would like to welcome Dr. Sonia Tao-Yi to our practice. Dr. Tao-Yi has been practicing dentistry for over 10 years. She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of California at Berkeley, followed by dental school at the University of Detroit-Mercy, for which she received an Air Force scholarship. Following dental school in 1999, she obtained advanced training in General Dentistry in a year long residency program at Langley AFB. When not seeing patients, Dr. Tao enjoys traveling, reading and athletics. She and her husband Steve have been blessed with 3 children. Dr. Tao-Yi enjoys all aspects of dentistry with a special interest in orthodontic treatment.
Cheryl
Cheryl is our office's Interdepartmental Coordinator and a lifelong Virginia Peninsula resident. She has extensive office and chairside dental experience and enjoys both immensely. She and her husband Mark have two adult children, Stacy and Jeremy, and a beautiful granddaughter, Reagan. They are members of Waters Edge Church. When away from the office, Cheryl enjoys volunteering for the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life of York/Poquoson.
Lisa
Lisa, our office's Patient Coordinator, joined us in July 2008 upon the retirement of Mary Lou. She and her husband Frank of 25 years have been richly blessed with four wonderful children, Janice, Lauren, Katie and Bobby, an awesome son-in-law, Dean, and two grandchildren, Austin & Katelyn. Lisa's greatest joy comes from serving the Lord and spending time with her family and friends.
Linda
Linda is a Business Assistant in our practice and works in the front office part time. Her responsibilities include various printing projects, and business-related duties. She is a graduate of James Madison University. Linda and Dr. Griffin have been blessed with two wonderful children, Will and Katie, who are both attending the University of Virginia.
Tarin
Tarin is our dental assistant. She came to the area as a result of her husband's serving in the military. She enjoys many aspects of dentistry, but most of all is the opportunities to comfort and share her knowledge with the patients she serves. In her free time, she loves spending time with her family, especially with her three young kids.
Harriette
Harriette has been with us since 1995, and has been a Clinical Assistant since 1972. She and her husband, Fred, have two grown children, Elizabeth and Ashley. Peninsula residents since 1993, they previously lived in Winchester, Virginia for 18 years. When not caring for patients, Harriette enjoys sewing and gardening.
Erin
Erin is our dental assistant. She loves interacting with patients and making them feel very welcoming and comfortable. In her free time, she enjoys doing dental mission trips, watching football games, and spending time with her friends and family.
Rona
Rona is a lifelong Newport News resident and has been a Dental Hygienist since 1975. She and her husband Alan have been married for 30 years and they have one son, Gus. Rona has enjoyed caring for her patients at City Center Dental Care for over 20 years. Her passions are exercise, gardening and volunteer work.
Beth
Beth serves in our practice's hygiene department and sees patients on Tuesdays and Thursdays. She enjoys helping patients achieve improved dental health through proper dental hygiene. She and her husband John have been married more than 20 years. They have been graciously blessed with six children. When not keeping up with her busy family or assisting patients with hygiene concerns, she enjoys teaching Sunday School , teaching a weekly Ladies Bible Study, and playing the piano.
Suzanne
Suzanne has served as a Dental Hygienist since 1979. A retired military wife, she and her husband Bo of 29 years have lived in the area since 1999. Together they have a grown daughter, Holly. She enjoys outreach and helping as many people as she can while her dental chair. Outside of the office, Suzanne enjoys cooking, reading, knitting, sewing, spending time with friends, as well as teaching a Sunday School class for four years olds at Nansemond River Baptist Church, where she and her family are members.
Carolyn
A lifelong Peninsula resident, Carolyn has served as a Dental Hygienist since 1996. She loves the prevention and wellness aspect of dental hygiene and the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of the people she cares for. Carolyn and her husband Steve have been married since 1990 and they have a son named Eric. They enjoy a variety of leisure activities, from museum hopping to sports, and other outdoor activities. Carolyn and her family are members of St. Joseph Church, where she has found great joy in sharing God's word with fourth grade religious education students.
Anh
Anh is our Information Technology Director and support person. She helps manage our computer system, websites, and network. She is a member of the Vietnamese Evangelical Baptist Church, a local mission of Hampton Baptist Church in Hampton, Virginia. She serves as a worship musician with her husband at their church. In her free time, Anh enjoys mission trips, meeting people, and spending time with her two daughters, Esther and Jojo, and together with them, they attempt to analyze and try to understand how things work.
